Springmaid Pier is a 1,060-foot fishing pier located at the DoubleTree Resort by Hilton in Myrtle Beach. It holds the distinction of being home to the NOAA weather observation station (Station 8661070) that provides real-time oceanographic data for the entire Grand Strand. The pier offers excellent fishing, especially for king mackerel and red drum, and is one of the few piers with resort amenities nearby.

What happened, and when

  1. 1950s

    Springmaid Beach Resort

    The pier was built as part of the Springmaid Beach Resort, one of the earliest oceanfront resorts in Myrtle Beach.
