About Springmaid Pier

Springmaid Pier is a 1,060-foot fishing pier located at the DoubleTree Resort by Hilton in Myrtle Beach. It holds the distinction of being home to the NOAA weather observation station (Station 8661070) that provides real-time oceanographic data for the entire Grand Strand. The pier offers excellent fishing, especially for king mackerel and red drum, and is one of the few piers with resort amenities nearby.

  • No cast nets from the pier (SC law on public piers)
  • No shark fishing from the pier deck (most piers)
  • Keep your area clean. Dispose of bait and fish scraps properly
  • Be courteous to other anglers. Don't cast over someone else's line
  • Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult
