Give people room
A rod length between setups is the informal standard on most Grand Strand piers. On a busy Saturday at the T-top, closer than that and someone is getting crossed.
Land fish quickly
Use a drop net at the end of the pier rather than horsing a fish up the rail. It is easier on the fish and on your leader.
Clean up
Monofilament left on the deck ends up around a pelican's leg. Every pier has a line recycling tube — use it.
